About this Event
How did the US become so polarized, politically, culturally, and economically? James T. Kloppenberg, Charles Warren Research Professor of American History at Harvard, will explain how and why Americans now seem to be at each other’s throats. To understand our current condition, Kloppenberg will discuss the nature of democracy, identify the reasons why our always volatile democracy has become even more unstable, and offer suggestions about how we can bridge the chasms that now divide Americans from one another.
