DESCRIPTION:RSM Gallery proudly presents this solo exhibition of drawings a
 nd mixed media sculptures by Ifé Franklin\, an activist artist whose work m
 erges history\, spirituality and Afrofuturism. Ifé Franklin’s Indigo Projec
 t has been developed over the last decade to honor the lives\, culture and 
 history of formerly enslaved Africans/African Americans with collaborative 
 construction of life-size replicas of slave cabins at its center. The artis
 t will bring indigo-dyed Adire panels from her 4th Ancestor Slave Cabin Scu
 lpture to create the installation “Cabin in the Sky” in the center of the R
 SM Gallery\, surrounded by her large Dogon/Sirius B/Ancestor drawings and C
 onjure Bottle sculptures. Ifé Franklin’s Indigo Project is a testament to t
 he enslaved\, and ultimately this project transmits the energy of love\, ho
 nor\, joy\, respect and remembrance.
