Since the mission of colleges and universities is to advance and disseminate knowledge, these institutions are open environments. From a cybersecurity perspective, however, this openness must be balanced with the safety of the faculty, staff, students, and institutional assets.
This talk surveys the state of cybersecurity in higher education with a focus on two areas. First, exploring the history and trends of security incidents in higher education. Second, highlighting some best practices for university employees and students to reduce the risk of such incidents.
Join David Yates as he discusses some of the major security incidents that have impact various higher education institutes across the world.
