Bentley University

theoretical as well as practical experience in conflict resolution for typical interactions that may arise in everyday life. Recognizing that conflict perpetually exists as we navigate our lives, this workshop emphasizes the philosophy that conflict is neither good nor bad; it is what you do with it that matters. To that end, participants will learn their own conflict styles, become familiar with how those styles show up in how we problem-solve, as well as provide tools and skills on how to flex to other styles of conflict when needed. Additionally, participants will engage in problem-solving exercises as well as a short case study to conclude the workshop.

Presented by Vin Ciampolillo, associate director, investigations and alternative resolutions in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. This workshop is designed for all Bentley community members, including students, faculty and staff.

As a measure of success, it is the intention that the content will adequately prepare participants to put the presented tools and skills into practice and participants will be able to:

  • Define different conflict resolution methods;
  • Compare the goals of each method; and
  • Formulate an approach based on the specific conflict
